Haikus, 6/10/17

Note: I taught a poetry class at Fyrecon this afternoon, and we did a few challenge poems during the participation segment of the class. These were the ones I came up with. The first two had no prompt, while the prompt for the third was "Fire".

The heron’s neck dips
Glassy water at lakeside
Crickets complaining

The sodden warrior
His boot caught upon the rocks
Downstream from battle

Hiss of burning sap
We create short-lived stars here
In the canyon’s cleft
